Hyperion Auctions Winter Fine Art Sale Saturday 21st at 11.00am


Hyperion Auction in St Ives are having our Winter Fine art Sale on Saturday 21st at 11.00am. This promises to be our sale of the year with many highs and records to be set.


One of our favourite lots is Lot 335 Graham Sutherland (1903-1980) Ceramic tile and brass mounted coffee table dated 1959 Estimate £2500-£3000 (noted WWII War Artist he recorded the damage done in Wales and the Blitz in London, Post war he gained the Order of Merit)


In our Art Section we have a Large collection of etchings by Valerie Thornton (1931-1991) British Etcher and Printmaker, works by John Varley, Stanislas Lepine, Utagawa Hiroshige, Anita Klein, Henry Bright, Angela Stones as well as Lot 240 Louis Marcoussis, French 1883 -1941, Oil on Canvas, Still life with bottle, 1923 with an Estimate of £20000 - £30000.


Hyperion also have one of our yearly sale sections of over 140 Lots of Militaria to include Instruments, Bayonets, Watches, Rifles, and medals. Included in this is Lot 378 A Rare Lemania Steel military chronograph wristwatch with a estimate of £500-£800 and Lot 395 WW2 Luftwaffe chronograph by Hanhart estimate £800 - £1200.


Silver is also a main feature in our Winter fine art Sale with over 90 Lots comprising of Flatware, tableware and collectables for all pockets!
